Clinical Indication: Glibenclamide and Metformin are used together in type 2 diabetes because they provide complementary mechanisms: Metformin enhances insulin sensitivity and decreases hepatic glucose production, while Glibenclamide stimulates pancreatic insulin secretion. This combination leads to better glycemic control when monotherapy is not adequate.
