Formula:
Metformin 1000mg / Sitagliptin 50mg
Indication: Metformin and sitagliptin are used together to treat type 2 diabetes because they work well in combination to lower blood sugar levels. Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the liver’s glucose production. On the other hand, sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, enhances incretin hormone activity. This results in increased insulin secretion in response to glucose and decreased glucagon secretion, leading to improved blood sugar control, especially when monotherapy is insufficient.
