Descripción
Formula:
• Atorvastatin 20mg
• Atorvastatin 40mg
Indications:
• Pharmacological treatment of dyslipidemia in association with diet: primary hypercholesterolemia (familial and non-familial), mixed dyslipidemia (IIb), dyslipidemia secondary to diabetes and nephrotic syndrome.
• It is used to lower lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when a low fat diet and life style changes on their own have failed. If you are at an increased risk of heart disease, Atorvastatin can also be used to reduce such risk even if your cholesterol levels are normal.
Dosage:
• Adults: Usual dose 10 mg per day at nighttime that can be increased according to the objective of therapy (LDL-cholesterol levels to be achieved) and the patient’s response, at intervals of at least 4 weeks.
• Max dose adult and older adult: 80 mg per day. In the context of an acute coronary syndrome: Initial dose of 80 mg per day.
• Pediatrics: 10-17 years (girls after menarche): 10 mg per day, max: 20 mg per day.
Presentation:
20 mg: box with 30 tablets.
40 mg: box with 30 tablets.
