Descripción
Composition:
Nobactam Clavulanic 2 coated tablets: Each coated tablet contains 875 mg of amoxicillin (as trihydrate) and 125 mg of clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate).
Nobactam Clavulanic 2 oral suspension powder: Each 100 g of powder contains 32 g of amoxicillin (as trihydrate) and 4.56 g of clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate).
Indications:
– Lower respiratory tract infections: caused by strains of Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis that produce β-lactamases.
– Dental infections: caused by β-lactamase-producing germs such as Staphylococcus aureus, Eikenella corrodens, Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium species, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella species, and Moraxella catarrhalis.
– Skin and soft tissue infections: caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella species that produce β-lactamases.
– Urinary tract infections: caused by strains of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella species, and Enterobacter species that produce β-lactamases.
Dosage:
Adults: – Severe infections: 875 mg (1 tablet) every 12 hours. Adults who have difficulty swallowing can use the oral suspension (800 mg of amoxicillin) twice a day.
Children:
– Usual dose: 25 mg/kg/day for mild to moderate infections (divided into 2 doses every 12 hours).
– Severe infections: up to 45 mg/kg/day (divided into 2 doses every 12 hours).
– Infants under 3 months: 30 mg/kg/day (divided every 12 hours).
– Children >40 kg: same dose as adults.
– Severe renal insufficiency: do not use 875 mg tablets.
Presentations
– Coated tablets: Packages containing 8 and 16 coated tablets.
– Oral suspension: Package containing 22.5 g of powder to prepare 90 ml of suspension.
